Booking Process
Taylor books appointments on a books open/closed system, and books four months at a time. That means, that every few months Taylor will ‘open’ her books for a short period of time to accept appointment requests through a booking form. Once she receives enough requests to fill the booking timeframe, she will then ‘close’ her books until the next booking period.
During the time her books are open, Taylor posts a temporary link to the booking form on her Linktree that takes you to the booking form, and it is also sent out to mailing list subscribers in an email. A Google account is needed to access the form. This process is for booking new projects and flash! Clients that want to book additional sessions for unfinished work by Taylor will need to send an email during her pre-booking period.
Pre-Bookings
About a week before Taylor’s custom books open, she takes what is called ‘pre-bookings’, where she accepts emails from clients who want to book additional sessions for unfinished work, as well as clients who have an existing deposit and need to reschedule a postponed appointment, or if they need touch ups on work by Taylor. This is so they are guaranteed a spot in her current booking period before she takes on new projects.
If you qualify for pre-bookings and want to book for her current booking period, you have a full week (dates specified in her booking announcement) to send Taylor an email with your availability and number of sessions you want to book and she will reply asap with available dates. Once her custom books open, pre-booking emails are no longer accepted!
Note: ‘Patchwork’ sleeves are considered new projects and clients will need to submit a form for new additions, unless Taylor has specified not to!
Custom Requests
It should be mentioned that submitting a form does not guarantee you an appointment!
There are a few reasons why Taylor may decline a request. One being that space is always very limited, and there will often be a few more requests than she can accommodate. So, unfortunately some requests may be turned down due to lack of space. If this is the case, you are always encouraged to resubmit your idea during the next booking round!
Another reason may be that Taylor feels that she is not the right artist to execute your idea. In that case, if possible she will always be happy to refer you to another artist or shop that might be a better fit if. If your request is turned down, please don’t take it personally! It doesn’t mean your idea isn’t valid, Taylor is just one person that accommodate so many people. Because of this, she prefers to focus on projects that align with her currently style and subject matter. Plus, it’s always best to go to an artist that feels confident in your idea, you will get a much better outcome that way!
Customs & Flash
To book a new custom piece or for one of Taylor’s flash designs, you will have to submit a form when her books are open!
There will be a specified date and time for when her books will be open, which she will post to her Instagram page and send out to mailing list subscribers, usually about 2 weeks in advance. Taylor’s books generally stay open for anywhere between 20 mins-1 hour, depending on the volume of requests. Submissions for flash designs take priority on a first come first serve basis, then custom projects will be taken in order of interest and relevancy to Taylor’s work. It can take a few weeks to get through all submissions. Prompt responses are very appreciated and help the process move fast and smooth. If Taylor does not receive a reply within 24-48 hours, you may miss your chance to book in!
The booking form will have all the details you need about the tattoo process and other general info (some of which you can also find on this website), as well as a section to fill out your information to ensure all necessary details are received. It’s very important to read all of the information thoroughly! You can also preview a version of the form here.
Booking Schedule
Taylor books four months at a time, and opens her books three times a year. This is always subject to change, but the booking timeframe is always noted in Taylor’s announcements. Currently, her books open in March, July, and November, booking for the four quarters of the year.
Taylor works Tuesdays-Saturdays, with a 1:00pm MST start time. Taylor cannot accommodate evening appointments, and typically books one appointment a day unless otherwise specified. Fridays and Saturdays fill up the fastest, so expect to need to take time off if your only availability is evenings and weekends!
